Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Obtain vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care delivery. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing excellent patient care throughout their visit. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and dental sterilization procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures including dental instrument processing and infection prevention management. Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the unique needs of pediatric patients. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
