The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with EMR systems and familiarity with pediatric dentistry will be advantageous. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays and perform medical imaging as required. Record patient medical history, and maintain accurate medical documentation. Manage patient flow and assist with chairside tasks to ensure efficient operations. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with infection control protocols. Schedule appointments and manage dental records using software such as Eaglesoft. Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming atmosphere and addressing their specific needs. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency in using EMR systems, especially Eaglesoft or Dexis. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while managing multiple tasks. Experience with 3D scanners and understanding of medical coding is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control measures, and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatrics.
