Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures. Assist dentists during examinations and treatments using chairside assisting techniques, including handing instruments and managing dental materials. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols using aseptic technique to prevent cross-contamination. Operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and updating medical history in EMR systems like Dentrix or Epic. Monitor vital signs when necessary, especially in pediatric dentistry or special cases requiring additional medical attention. Support general dentistry procedures across multiple specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics. Uphold HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems), especially Dentrix or Epic. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray operation and safety measures. Understanding of dental terminology Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
