In this vital role, you will be working with assisted hygiene while support the dentists during procedures as needed. You will help manage patient flow and ensure all clinical and administrative tasks are executed with precision. When needed you will be asked to help at the front desk answering phone or help with clerical work as needed. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming atmosphere for patients while adhering to the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures. Assist mainly the Hygienist with setting up, breaking down the room after the patient, x-rays, periodontal charting and sterilization. You will assist the Dentist as needed during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and maintaining a clear field of operation. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while following infection prevention management protocols. Manage patient records efficiently using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and ensuring comfort throughout treatment sessions. Support clinical confidentiality policies by safeguarding patient information in medical records and during all communications. Maintain infection control standards through proper dental instrument processing, aseptic technique, and dental equipment sterilization procedures. Assist with administrative duties such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic operations. Collaborate with team members practicing four-handed dentistry for increased efficiency during procedures. Stay updated on dental terminology, medical terminology, and current best practices in healthcare infection prevention and control. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records. Strong knowledge of dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices. Expertise in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management. Ability to perform chairside assisting with excellent hand-eye coordination and knowledge of dental equipment operation. Familiarity with medical imaging technology including 3D scanners and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills for patient management software navigation and providing clear instructions to patients. Understanding of healthcare infection prevention protocols such as aseptic technique and clinical confidentiality policies.
