$21.31/hr on W2 Job Description The Florida Department of Health - Marion County is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to provide chairside support, perform expanded duty dental functions, assist with patient care, radiographs, sterilization, operatory setup, and clerical duties in a busy public health dental clinic. Required Qualifications Florida Dental Radiology Certificate Florida Expanded Duty (EFDA) Certificate Current CPR/BLS Certification Valid Florida Driver's License Minimum 2 years of Dental Assistant experience Experience with four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting Experience performing dental radiographs/X-rays Knowledge of OSHA standards, infection control, sterilization, and hazardous dental materials Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Check, drug screening, and MVR Strong computer skills and experience with electronic dental records Preferred Qualifications Experience with EagleSoft electronic dental records Experience using ScanX phosphor plate imaging system Experience with dental materials, restorative procedures, and temporary crowns Clerical experience including scheduling, referrals, and patient documentation Experience teaching dental assisting students or providing community outreach presentations Key Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dental techniques during dental procedures. Perform expanded duty dental functions in accordance with Florida regulations. Prepare treatment rooms and ensure proper operatory setup before patient appointments. Take and process dental radiographs using EagleSoft and ScanX systems. Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment following OSHA and Florida Department of Health standards. Assist with restorative procedures, temporary crowns, sealants, fluoride applications, and suture removal. Maintain inventory of dental supplies, materials, and equipment. Complete patient documentation, referrals, appointment reminders, and other clerical duties using EagleSoft. Assist with emergency procedures, including CPR when required. Participate in community outreach, school programs, and student training as assigned.
