Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology, ensuring proper patient positioning and safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) system Dentrix Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient care while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies and ensure compliance with healthcare infection control standards throughout all procedures. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software for efficient medical documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation to assist effectively during procedures. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques to uphold clinic safety standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety guidelines; familiarity with dental imaging tools including 3D scanners is a must. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to improve procedure efficiency and patient comfort. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with the dental team as a dental receptionist when needed and provide exceptional patient care. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices specific to dental clinics to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients.
