Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining smooth operations within our general dentistry practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to promote optimal patient care. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing patient management software to streamline clinic operations. Maintain dental equipment functionality through routine inspection and troubleshooting; assist in dental instrument processing for sterilization. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate record keeping. Knowledge of infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and oral surgery practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care. Certification or training in chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry techniques, or related fields is highly desirable.
