Job Description
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Cross-Trained Front & Back Office We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and team-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our dental team! We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping patients, and brings a positive attitude and great energy to the office. Our ideal candidate is cross-trained or willing to learn both clinical and front-office responsibilities. We value team players who are dependable, organized, eager to learn, and willing to jump in wherever needed to help the practice run smoothly. You will work closely with the dentist and the entire team to provide excellent patient care and a warm, welcoming experience for every patient. Duties & Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures Prepare patients and operatories for treatment Prepare and organize tray setups for procedures Take and record vital signs Take dental X-rays Assist with fillings, crown preparations, extractions, and other dental procedures Transfer instruments and maintain excellent visibility using suction and other equipment Take impressions and pour models Provide post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist Educate patients on preventive oral care Maintain accurate and complete patient treatment records Follow infection control and safety protocols Recognize and appropriately respond to medical and dental emergencies Assist with front-office responsibilities as needed, including patient communication, scheduling, check-in/check-out, and other administrative tasks Work collaboratively with the entire team and step in wherever help is needed What We're Looking For Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification/experience preferred Cross-trained front and back office experience is a plus A positive, friendly, and professional personality Strong work ethic and dependability Excellent communication and customer service skills Organized and detail-oriented Team player who is willing to help wherever needed Someone who is trainable, eager to learn, and open to taking on new responsibilities A genuine desire to make patients feel comfortable and well cared for If you are someone who enjoys being part of a team, has a great attitude, and is willing to learn and grow with our practice, we would love to hear from you!
