Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, processing dental equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control policies. Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans while ensuring patient safety and comfort through proper positioning and radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, measuring vital signs, and providing excellent patient care throughout their visit. Maintain clinical supplies by monitoring inventory levels of dental instruments, sterilization materials, and other essential items. Uphold clinic standards by adhering to healthcare infection prevention protocols and ensuring all dental sterilization procedures are meticulously followed. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical documentation and records. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology related to oral health, and anatomy relevant to dental assisting roles. Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners, and dental instrument processing is advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a focus on patient comfort and safety. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
