Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures, following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentist chairside during range of treatments including restorative procedures, oral surgery, implant dentistry. Take digital dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while maintaining accuracy and adhering to dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures according to dental sterilization protocols to uphold infection control standards. Support front desk operations as needed by assisting the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental equipment, medical documentation, and medical terminology. Strong understanding of infection control practices including healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures. Ability to accurately take X-rays (dental x-ray), operate dental equipment safely, and perform oral surgery assistance when required. Florida dental radiology license preferred. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in vital signs measurement for patient assessment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a four-handed dentistry team while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred; prior experience with implant dentistry or prosthodontics is a plus but not required.
