Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA and infection prevention protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, documenting treatment details and medical histories. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear operative field during procedures. Perform dental instrument processing following sterilization procedures to uphold aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Support patient management by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and compassion. Requirements Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical documentation and records. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray units, sterilizers, and other clinical tools. Understanding of infection prevention management practices such as aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures. Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; certification in dental radiography is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
