Clinical skills are important, but so are personality, attitude, and the ability to make every patient feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the orthodontist with all aspects of patient care, including bracket placement, archwire changes and adjustments, appliance delivery, and other orthodontic procedures. Prepare treatment areas and maintain properly stocked, organized clinical workspaces. Follow proper sterilization, infection-control, and aseptic protocols. Take high-quality digital X-rays, photographs, scans, and other orthodontic records. Confidently operate orthodontic technology, including 3D scanners, intraoral cameras, and digital X-ray equipment . Accurately document treatment and maintain confidential patient records. Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, elastics, retainers, and treatment instructions. Help maintain an efficient patient flow while providing friendly, attentive service throughout each visit. Communicate effectively with the doctor, team members, patients, and parents. Anticipate what is needed throughout the clinical day and take initiative without requiring constant direction. Assist with scheduling, patient questions, and other practice responsibilities when needed.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of orthodontic assisting experience Current X-ray certification Expanded Functions certification Strong chairside orthodontic assisting skills Knowledge of sterilization, infection control, dental terminology, anatomy, and orthodontic procedures Comfortable using digital orthodontic technology and electronic patient records Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and customer-service skills Ability to multitask while remaining focused and attentive to detail Dependable, professional, energetic, and willing to work as part of a team Ability to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative If you are an experienced orthodontic assistant who is personable, motivated, dependable, and passionate about providing outstanding patient care, we would love to meet you!
Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 per week
