Beautiful Smiles by Design is one of the fastest-growing dental practices serving the communities of Dalton and Calhoun, Georgia, and now proudly Chattanooga, Tennessee. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will support the dentist and dental team by delivering exceptional patient care, assisting with dental procedures, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, and ensuring that every patient has a positive and comfortable experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Duties Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and materials are available. Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures. Take and process dental X-rays in accordance with state regulations and office policies. Prepare patients for treatment and explain procedures as directed. Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to OSHA and infection-control standards. Maintain proper documentation in the patient's dental record. Provide patients with post-operative and oral hygiene instructions. Assist with laboratory cases, impressions, temporary crowns, and other procedures within the scope of practice. Patient Care Greet and escort patients to treatment rooms. Ensure patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Maintain a professional, courteous, and compassionate attitude. Communicate patient concerns and questions to the dentist or appropriate team member. Administrative and Office Support Assist with scheduling and confirming appointments when needed. Maintain adequate supplies and notify the appropriate person when inventory is low. Help keep the office clean, organized, and properly stocked. Assist other team members as needed to support efficient office operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Dental Assistant certification or registration as required by applicable state law. Current CPR certification, preferred Previous dental assisting experience preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, procedures, and infection-control protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Skills and Abilities Excellent patient service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Dependability, professionalism, and a positive attitude. Ability to follow instructions and office policies. Ability to stand and work for extended periods You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Education:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: (Required) Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
Preferred Required Licenses/Certifications:
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA): (Required) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: (Preferred)
