Dental assistants are the heart of a dental office. They are the co-surgeons during procedures, and ensure that patients are well taken care of. Our patient's know our assistants and develop relationships with them based on trust and commitment. Our doctor holds his assistants in high regard, and treats them with the respect and dignity that they deserve. This keeps the energy at the office upbeat and positive. A day in the life As a Dental Assistant @ Fayette Family Dental, a typical day might include the following. Arrive at 7:40 am to huddle with your team to celebrate yesterday's wins, address opportunities, and prepare for today's patients. You just walked in prepared and ready! Ensure that the equipment and setups are all ready for the day. Luckily you have checklists and protocols to make this easy. Calm a nervous patient before her crown procedure. She appreciates that you don't have to take an impression and do a digital scan instead. She loves her temporary so much she gives you a hug on the way out! Educate an emergency patient on what to expect for removing his broken tooth. After the tooth is removed you go over his post-op instructions, you explain the importance of getting back on a cleaning schedule. Your education may be the thing that keeps him out of dentures at an early age! Scan a patient for Invisalign. You educate them on Invisalign using the iTero outcome simulator, and they are excited to begin the process. Get out on time to enjoy your family, as we do not do evening hours!
