Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for patient care. In this role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice while maintaining the highest standards of safety and infection control. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) using appropriate techniques and ensure accurate medical imaging documentation. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and managing medical documentation. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Experience with dental imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures and 3D scanner technology. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures. Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures and documentation requirements. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dental team members and patients of all ages.
