Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, maintaining infection control protocols, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. If you are passionate about dentistry and have excellent organizational and communication skills, we would love to hear from you. ###Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment room and necessary instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic dental laboratory procedures, such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Maintain infection control protocols, including sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment rooms
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records using dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, verifying insurance coverage, and processing payments
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality ###
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures and techniques
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) for scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Familiarity with dental laboratory procedures, including pouring impressions, taking digital impression with Scanners, and fabricating temporary crowns
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medical documentation, including medical coding and terminology
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
