In this energetic position, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your friendly demeanor, will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments . Take quality dental X-rays. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix , ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct patient management activities including updating medical documentation, and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding. Support dental sterilization procedures by following aseptic technique and infection control policies to maintain a safe clinical environment. Assist with dental instrument processing, including cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing tools for reuse while adhering to dental sterilization procedures. Collaborate with the dental team on four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during clinical procedures. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Support the dental receptionist duties as needed by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and answering patient inquiries professionally. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for managing medical records efficiently. Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and aseptic technique is required. Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools is advantageous. Experience assisting with a variety of dental specialties such as pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics will be considered a strong asset. Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology and medical documentation standards is crucial for success in this role. Certification in Dental Assisting (such as CDA or equivalent) along with CPR certification is preferred but not mandatory for all applicants.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
