Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to support general dentistry. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in EMR systems. Maintain accurate medical documentation and manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and assist with medical imaging as required. Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards throughout the clinic. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including restorative work and extractions. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Experience Candidates should possess a solid background in dental assisting with experience in a clinical setting. Familiarity with EMR system such as Dentrix Ascend is preferred. Knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency in medical terminology, dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation is essential. Experience with vital signs monitoring, anatomy knowledge, and infection control measures will be beneficial for success in this role.
