Job Summary We are seeking a kind and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our vibrant dental team. Duties Assist the dentist with procedures ensuring precision and efficiency. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize patient comfort and workflow. Take digital dental radiographs ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Process and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management protocols to maintain clinical asepsis. Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a welcoming environment aligned with clinical confidentiality policies. Work as a team offering support with miscellaneous clinical and office tasks when needed. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in expanded functions tasks within a general or pediatric dentistry setting. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment operation. Skilled in dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic technique adherence. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly desirable. Certification in dental x-ray technology and knowledge of medical terminology are required. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
