Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will support the delivery of comprehensive dental care by performing expanded duties that enhance patient experience and streamline clinical operations. Your expertise in dental procedures, patient management, and infection control will contribute to maintaining a high standard of care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical flow. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to infection prevention management protocols. Process dental instruments and sterilize equipment following strict dental sterilization procedures to uphold clinical safety standards. Measure vital signs and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments, especially in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery cases. Support front desk operations by handling patient management software tasks, scheduling appointments, and providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records efficiently. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines. Experience with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices. Expertise in infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform dental sterilization procedures accurately while maintaining compliance with infection prevention policies. Skilled in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and procedural efficiency. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry protocols, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and medical documentation requirements.
