Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and compassion Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise Skills Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Patient management software, or Epic for efficient record keeping Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental instruments, equipment, and medical imaging techniques Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized areas like pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatrics is highly desirable Ability to operate dental x-ray machines safely and accurately while following all infection prevention policies Excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients as a dental receptionist when needed and provide clear instructions for post-treatment care Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures Familiarity with medical documentation practices including medical coding and electronic health records management Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference!
