Job Description
Benevis Dental seeks a Hygiene Assistant to support our mission of expanding access to quality dental care. In this role, you will prepare treatment rooms, assist hygienists chairside, and maintain strict infection control standards. You'll sterilize instruments, set up trays, update basic patient information, and help ensure each visit is comfortable and efficient. Responsibilities Prepare and disinfect treatment rooms and dental equipment before and after procedures Assist hygienists during exams, cleanings, and preventive treatments Sterilize, organize, and maintain instruments and supplies to meet safety standards Escort patients, update health histories, and ensure comfort throughout visits Record and update patient information in practice systems as directed Set up trays, materials, and equipment for scheduled procedures Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and report needs to supervisor Follow infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines at all times Support front office with scheduling or patient flow as needed Participate in team huddles and training focused on patient care and quality Required Skills Chairside assistance for dental hygiene procedures Dental instrument sterilization Infection control and OSHA compliance Basic dental terminology Electronic health record data entry Patient preparation and positioning Treatment room setup and turnover Inventory and supply management HIPAA compliance Radiography support (if certified)
