Maryland Temporary EFDA/Dental Assistant Duration:

4-6 months with possible extension The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) plays a vital role in supporting dental practitioners by performing a variety of clinical tasks that enhance patient care and streamline dental procedures. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to apply their expanded skills in a dynamic dental environment. The Chairside Collective staffing agency is seeking a qualified and dependable Dental Assistant or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) for temporary placement at a premier local dental practice. You will step in to provide seamless chairside assistance, ensure exceptional patient care, and keep the clinic running smoothly during this assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during exams and diverse dental procedures. Perform EFDA duties (if certified), including placing restorations, contouring matrices, and applying sealants/fluoride. Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to OSHA and CDC guidelines. Take high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral photos as requested. Manage patient flow , ensuring comfort, taking vitals, and updating digital electronic health records (EHR).

Qualifications & Skills License & Certification:

Active Dental Assistant registration and/or EFDA certification in

Maryland X-Ray Certified:

Current radiation health and safety certification is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of hands-on clinical experience preferred.

Software:

Familiarity with dental software like Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft is a plus.
