Part-Time, with potential for additional hours About the Role We are seeking a skilled and dependable Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on orthodontic experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to provide excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position will initially be part-time on Mondays and Fridays , with the potential to grow into additional hours based on practice needs and performance. Key Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist with patient examinations, procedures, and treatment. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials. Take and process dental/orthodontic X-rays and other diagnostic records as permitted. Assist with impressions, digital scans, photographs, and orthodontic records. Assist with placement and removal of orthodontic appliances and other clinical procedures. Provide patient education on oral hygiene, orthodontic appliances, and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate and complete patient records. Ensure proper sterilization and infection-control procedures. Communicate professionally with patients, parents, and the clinical team. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient clinical environment. Support the orthodontist and team with other clinical duties as needed. Required Qualifications Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant . Expanded Functions (EFDA) certification/qualification is required. Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between the Catonsville and Glen Burnie (GB) offices as needed . Current CPR/BLS certification preferred. Schedule Monday & Friday — Part-Time to Start Additional days/hours may become available based on practice needs. Flexibility to work between the Catonsville and Glen Burnie locations is required.
