Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and setting up necessary equipment in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Take high-quality dental x-rays and utilize 3D scanners while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix Ascend, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Gather vital signs and medical histories from patients to support comprehensive treatment planning and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are maintained. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-procedure care, and treatment plans to promote ongoing dental health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries as a dental receptionist, and managing patient management software for efficient clinic operations. Skills Proficiency with dental software including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and patient management systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across pediatric dentistry. Expertise in infection prevention management, medical documentation, and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare standards. Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and dental equipment maintenance. Experience with dental x-ray techniques including digital radiography and 3D imaging tools for accurate diagnosis. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency. Excellent communication skills for patient care delivery and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice and understanding of clinical confidentiality policies.
