Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor, Endodontics, College of Dental Medicine Position Type Adjunct Faculty Track Clinical Employment Status Part Time Months Campus Portland, ME Description The University of New England College of Dental Medicine invites applications for part-time, year-round adjunct clinical track positions in Endodontics at the Assistant Clinical Professor rank. The college is currently seeking applicants to work one day per week on Wednesdays during the summer, fall, and spring semesters. The DMD program operates year-round, and qualified candidates must have availability to work across all three semesters (June-May). Located on UNE's Portland Campus for the Health Sciences, UNE CDM is the only dental school in a region where access to quality oral healthcare is a persistent challenge, especially in rural areas. This position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship. Responsibilities The Endodontics faculty member will serve in the Department of Diagnostic, Surgical, and Integrated Sciences. Primary responsibility is clinical instruction in UNE's Oral Health Center patient care clinic during the summer, fall, and spring semesters (year round). Qualifications Qualified candidates must possess aD.D.S./D.M.D.
degree, or international equivalent, and have active Maine Board of Dental Practice licensure (full). The endodontist candidate must have completed a CODA-accredited graduate program in Endodontics; and must be Board Certified, or eligible for Board Certification, as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. General dentists highly experienced and competent providing endodontic diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis consistent with contemporary endodontic standards may be considered for this position.This includes:
Differential diagnosis of odontogenic pain Diagnosis and management of endodontic emergencies, including pain and/or swelling Non-surgical root canal treatment for the permanent dentition to include anterior, premolar, and molar teeth.
