Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and patient care practices. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop X-rays if needed, utilizing medical imaging equipment effectively. Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Practiceworks and Softdent for efficient patient management. Conduct chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow during procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all dental instruments are sterilized and ready for use. Provide excellent patient care by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort. Skills ability to handle switching between doctors easily Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures Experience with chairside assisting techniques and four-handed dentistry. Ability to perform medical imaging tasks including X-ray operations if needed. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical documentation practices including coding and record management. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Basic knowledge of anatomy related to dental health is essential.
