Creating temporary crownsApplying sealantsTaking final impressionsPerforming other permitted expanded dental assisting functionsAssisting with Class I restorationsClass I restorations are preferred but not required. Refresher training can be provided for less frequently performed RDA functions such as sealants and final impressions.
Experienced DAs without an RDA credential are also eligible, although expanded functions are limited to qualified RDAs in accordance with Michigan requirements.
QualificationsRequired/Strongly Preferred:

Preferred:
Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credentialActive Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credentialApproximately 1+ year of dental assisting experienceExperience with expanded dental assisting functionsExperience assisting with surgical extractions and other advanced procedures
BLS:
Required, but candidates who do not currently have BLS may obtain the certification after hire. The employer will pay for the certification.
CompensationDental Assistant:
Approximately $20.00-$24.00/hour, with placement within the range based on experience and credentials
