Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management standards Assist dentists during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, providing four-handed dentistry support for efficiency and comfort Take and develop dental X-ray images while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies Collect vital signs and medical history information, updating patient charts with precise medical terminology and anatomy knowledge Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and maintaining a welcoming environment aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise Perform dental instrument processing, including sterilization and aseptic technique adherence, to uphold the highest standards of infection control Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental equipment, dental terminology, and medical imaging techniques Proficiency in using patient management software such as Open Dental for scheduling, record keeping, and billing purposes Familiarity with EMR systems, X-ray techniques, dental sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management practices Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies along with aseptic technique standards Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members including dental receptionists and other clinical staff Knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and dental assisting best practices to ensure high-quality patient care Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in dental health!
