Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments, sterilizing tools, and adhering to infection control policies aligned with healthcare standards. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow through patient management software, and coordinating with the dental reception team to enhance overall clinic efficiency. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred. Proficiency with dental software systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry enhances your effectiveness in this role. Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools is beneficial. Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques ensures compliance with safety standards. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or oral surgery procedures is a plus but not required.
