Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for patient appointments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology efficiently and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize procedure flow. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary for patients with special needs or medical conditions. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and anatomy knowledge to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical records or coding procedures for billing purposes. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and maintaining aseptic technique is essential. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft enhances workflow efficiency; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding ensures accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatrics-focused practices is advantageous. Understanding infection control standards and anatomy knowledge related to oral health is crucial for safe practice delivery. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is required; additional certifications in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry are beneficial.
