Job Description

Collin B. Peterson, DMD General Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. We are a practice dedicated to serving patients with compassion, integrity, and excellence. Dental Assistant Work Description Lead dental assistants are expected to work professionally with other clinical staff and management in the dental practice. They are expected to handle normal assisting procedures & customary duties, but also handle supervisory and administrative tasks as well. Assist Dr. Peterson During Clinical Procedures Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms Proficient in taking dental X-rays Fabricate temporary crowns Taking and scanning impressions Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment Charting treatment Experience in Dentrix Maintain accurate patient records Follow infection control and safety protocols Dental Assistant Duties Leads clinical team in the dental needs of back office Monitor and prioritize workflow of the dental assistants Maintain office records and supplies for clinical area Maintain and order clinical supplies & be the liaison between doctor and supply company Develop clinical staff schedules Train new assistant hires and demonstrate standard operating procedures within the practice Handling requests for vacation, sick leave, or other time off for clinical team. Intermediary for dentists and dental assistants to delineate and clarify feedback from both parties to help maintain communication Report any issues with clinical or front office staff related to SOP to the doctor or practice administrator so they may be addressed promptly Keep the dentist(s) and clinical team members informed of appointment changes, overruns and patients in the waiting room Input for performance reviews for the doctor or practice administrator for other team members Dental Assistant Regular Duties Assist dentist(s) during dental treatment procedures. Assist dentist(s) with typical procedures such as taking and developing X-rays, charting, intra oral photos, and assisting with any other clinical procedures up to their legal ability. Assisting with setup, breakdown, maintenance, clean-up, proper sterilization or other preparation of rooms and equipment & instruments daily
PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience High School Diploma (required) Dental Assistant Certification (required) 2 or more years of clinical experience in a dental practice Active Radiology Permit (required) CPR Certification (required) Knowledge of Dentrix Dental Software Legible handwriting for communications Trained and certified in the dental assisting field High level of ability to lead and manage others Interpersonal Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and community Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff Team player Able to adapt to office policy improvements (office is constantly striving for improved customer care/service) Conflict resolution experience Customer service or patient relations experience Quick response/accurate data entry Communicate all concerns to Office Manager Must be focused, personable, punctual and have the ability to handle a busy dental office
Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
