Responsibilities Assist dentists with chairside procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring efficient patient flow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental x-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support comprehensive patient care. Support patient management through effective communication, appointment scheduling, and helping with patient referrals. Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination during all clinical activities. Assist with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining dental equipment to ensure readiness for daily operations. Apply knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation standards to facilitate accurate record keeping and treatment planning. Support the implementation of healthcare infection prevention policies and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry. Demonstrated proficiency with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, dental sterilization procedures, and four-handed dentistry techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation is essential. Knowledge of dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental instruments, and oral surgery tools. Understanding of infection prevention management practices aligned with healthcare standards is necessary to ensure clinical safety. Experience in handling medical imaging procedures and supporting complex dental treatments. Strong communication skills coupled with a thorough understanding of dental terminology and anatomy will enable you to excel in this role.
