This role plays an important part in creating a positive and comfortable experience for every patient who walks through our doors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, team-focused, and committed to providing high-quality dental care while helping maintain a welcoming and supportive clinic environment. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Support Assist the dentist during procedures while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for patients Polish the coronal surfaces of teeth using a rubber cup or brush Prepare, clean, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment Take and develop dental X-rays Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and dental care practices Maintain accurate patient records and update charts as needed Ensure treatment rooms remain clean, organized, and fully stocked Help foster a welcoming and engaging clinic environment for patients and team members State & Federal Regulations Management Maintain current HIPAA, OSHA, and risk management training; support scheduling and compliance monitoring Ensure required notices and information related to HIPAA, privacy practices, and applicable laws are properly displayed Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist in implementing and maintaining dental office procedures and compliance standards
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a Dental Assistant program or equivalent. X-ray certification CPR certification RDA, CDA, or QDA (will need to be able to take X-Rays) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience and friendly demeanor to help ease dental anxiety. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills Possess knowledge of medical/dental terminology. Understand and comply with licensing and continuing education requirements for professional staff. Understand and comply with the dental office HIPAA compliance. Understand and comply with the HI-TECH Act of 2009. Interpersonal and collaborative communication skills that relate well with students, staff, patients, faculty, and dentists. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, time management, and active listening skills Working knowledge of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, electronic calendar, and e-mail, etc.).
PREFERENCES
Previous experience as a dental assistant Knowledge of friendly behavior management techniques Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix Ascend)
BENEFITS COMPENSATION
