As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear operative field during procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal oral health outcomes. Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, and handling medical documentation with precision. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while supporting the team in infection control practices such as sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices. Certification in X-ray technology and infection prevention management is required; knowledge of HIPAA regulations is essential. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor to provide outstanding patient care in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies.
