Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to aid in patient assessment. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and billing processes. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and managing patient flow efficiently. Experience Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding enhances your ability to perform effectively. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of various dental specialties including orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and general dentistry is beneficial. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management ensures privacy and security of patient information. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of patient care.
