You will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety are maintained throughout the practice. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging to support accurate diagnosis while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and electronic health records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote ongoing oral health. Support dental equipment maintenance, including the operation of a 3D scanner and other advanced dental technology to enhance diagnostic accuracy. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently. Strong understanding of infection control standards including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention protocols. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with familiarity with dental instruments, equipment, and medical documentation practices. Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and collaboration within a healthcare team specializing in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry. Certification in dental assisting or related fields preferred; ongoing training in medical terminology or advanced dental procedures is advantageous.
