Job Description
Overview We are a new dental practice seeking a hard-working, caring, and positive Dental Assistant to join our awesome, small dental team. We want this job to be fun and rewarding for you, with lots of potential for growth. We truly care about our team and our patients! Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to aseptic techniques and proper sterilization methods. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and documenting treatments in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Schedule appointments and manage the dental office's calendar efficiently using Dentrix or similar software. We can train the right candidate. Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable environment and addressing their specific needs during visits. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth operations within the practice. Qualifications Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques is preferred. Experience with Dentrix Ascend software is a plus. Understanding of prosthodontics procedures is desirable. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Previous experience in pediatrics is an advantage but not mandatory. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A certification or diploma in Dental Assisting from an accredited program is preferred.
