Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as digital X-ray systems ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems with Carestreams Sensei, documenting vital signs, medical history, and treatment details in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing excellent patient care that emphasizes comfort and understanding. Maintain infection control standards by following dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients alike. Assist with dental instrument processing, including cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing tools necessary for many different aspects of dentistry Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in dental assisting preferred. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and clinical procedures. Familiarity with dental software, we will train you on our dental software for managing patient records and appointments. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proficiency in taking X-rays while maintaining safety standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Ability to follow strict infection control protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention practices.
