Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, hygiene, and more, providing chairside support with precision. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Manage patient flow by greeting patients as they arrive, updating medical records, recording vital signs, and ensuring accurate medical documentation within Dentrix Ascend Educate patients on oral health care instructions, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using appropriate dental terminology. Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments following sterilization procedures and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly. Support the dental reception area by managing appointment scheduling, answering inquiries, and coordinating with the team to optimize daily operations. Marketing/social media support; attendance of 1-2 networking events/month. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment; experience with dental sterilization procedures and infection control is essential. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; training provided for Dentrix Ascend Knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, dental equipment operation including X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent credentials; additional certifications in radiography or infection control are preferred. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention policies (HIPAA compliance) and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during clinical procedures.
