Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals. In this energetic position, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting dedicated to general dentistry and specialized fields like pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all dental tools are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently. Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to infection prevention management protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, treatment plans, and medical documentation. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Support patient management software systems to schedule appointments, update medical records, and facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic. Follow strict infection control procedures including dental sterilization procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Certification in dental x-ray techniques; proficiency in taking intraoral and extraoral images required. Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques across various specialties including oral surgery and endodontics. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases. Attention to detail in medical documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations ensuring privacy and confidentiality of patient records. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy equipment when necessary, and maintain a high level of clinical confidentiality at all times. $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 35.0 per week
