Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all supplies are stocked for procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment notes, and billing information. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health. Follow strict infection prevention management protocols, including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, managing patient flow, and providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and clinical workflows. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient medical documentation and record keeping. Strong understanding of dental terminology, equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or oral surgery. Certification in dental X-ray technology and proficiency in taking high-quality radiographs while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Knowledge of infection control standards including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care delivery. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs. Flexibility to handle multiple responsibilities such as medical documentation, instrument processing, patient management software use, and supporting clinical staff.
