In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive chairside assistance, perform expanded functions in accordance with state regulations, and support the delivery of exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinical operations, uphold infection control standards, and enhance patient experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your advanced dental assisting skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment committed to excellence. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, temporary restorations, and placement of sealants following state guidelines Operate and maintain dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and sterilization devices in compliance with infection prevention protocols Take dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and safety measures in line with HIPAA and OSHA standards Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques and processing dental instruments efficiently Support patient management by reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology Qualifications Valid EFDA certification/license as required by state regulations Proven experience in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in general dentistry procedures and chairside assisting Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical documentation, and clinical confidentiality policies Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix for managing patient records effectively Skilled in dental x-ray techniques with certification in radiography preferred Knowledge of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques Experience with general dentistry, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and dental equipment operation is highly desirable Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and technical excellence.
