Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans when applicable Manage patient records using Open Dental ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients, etc, to support comprehensive care Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including handling dental terminology and assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is preferred but not mandatory Familiarity with dental assisting procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge is essential Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a healthcare setting is required Hands-on experience with X-ray technology, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools is advantageous.
