Chairside Assisting:
Provide efficient four handed dentistry for various procedures including restorative, endodontic and surgical treatments.
Patient Preparation:
Escort patients to the treatment room, update medial history and prepare patient for examination and treatment.
Radiography :
Capture high quality X-rays (bitewings, pano) as directed by the doctor.
Treatment Planning:
Prepare and present treatment plans, enter treatment data and present to patient.
Anesthesia Support:
Assist in the administration of local anesthetics and monitor patients during and after procedures.
Sterilization:
Clear and sterilize instruments according to CDC and OSHA guidelines.
Operatory Turnaround:
Disinfect treatment rooms between patients and ensure they are stocked with proper supplies.
Clinical Record Keeping:
Accurately document treatments notes within the practice software. (Dentrix)
Supply Management:
Monitor inventory levels and alert department coordinator when supplies are needed.
Clinical Teamwork:
Offer help to other assistants when needed. Qualifications & Requirements
- Ohio Dental Radiography (X-ray)
License:
Required.
Clinical Assisting Experience:
Prior dental assisting experience is strongly preferred.
