In this energetic role, you'll work closely with patients and the orthodontist to deliver personalized treatment experiences. Your skills in dental assisting, patient management, and infection control will help create confident smiles and a welcoming environment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment stations by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Assist our orthodontist during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings using four-handed dentistry techniques. Take X-rays, ensuring adherence to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using our software, Ortho2 Edge, documenting treatment details securely under HIPAA guidelines. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices related to orthodontic appliances and post-treatment care, ensuring clear communication of dental terminology. Monitor patient comfort during procedures by utilizing chairside assisting skills and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on orthodontics. Proficiency in dental x-ray techniques. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and infection control protocols including aseptic technique. Familiarity with Ortho2 Edge software is preferred. EFODA certification required. Ability to perform clinical duties efficiently while maintaining strict confidentiality policies under HIPAA regulations. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while demonstrating professionalism and compassion. $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
