Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with experience in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry. This role involves assisting the dentist during various procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry. Monitor and record vital signs of patients prior to procedures. Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and dental terminology is essential. Ability to perform medical documentation accurately, including medical records management and coding. Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health and infection control practices.
