Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including cleanings, restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care to promote optimal outcomes. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following infection prevention management procedures and aseptic techniques. Support administrative tasks including patient check-in/out, scheduling appointments via patient management software, and managing medical documentation with precision. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment; familiarity with dental assisting duties is essential. Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and patient information. Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental sterilization protocols. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety standards; experience with medical imaging is preferred. Strong understanding of infection control practices, including dental instrument processing and healthcare infection prevention policies. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery settings. Ability to work efficiently in a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques and supporting general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology for accurate documentation.
