Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant, either a Dental Assistant (DA) or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), to join our vibrant team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to comprehensive dental care, support clinical operations, and enhance patient experiences through skilled assistance and excellent communication. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as digital X-ray systems and 3D scanners. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with medical documentation to support overall patient health management. Follow strict infection prevention protocols including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical confidentiality policies. Skills Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and dental instrument processing. Experience with dental X-ray techniques and oral surgery procedures. Strong understanding of infection control practices and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform dental sterilization procedures accurately and efficiently. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and general dentistry workflows. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients as a dental receptionist or during patient care activities.
