Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with experience across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of dental treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and providing chairside support. Take and record vital signs and medical histories to assist in patient assessment and ensure safety during treatment. Take x- rays, impressions, scanning, and making temporaries. Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Softdent, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental health. Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and updating medical documentation. Support dental procedures across multiple specialties such as orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and oral surgery to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols and sanitation standards at all times. Skills X Ray certified Proficiency in dental software systems such as Softdent for managing electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and clinical protocols across general dentistry and specialty areas including orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and periodontics. Ability to assess patient needs effectively through vital signs measurement and medical history review. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients professionally while providing clear instructions. Prior experience working in a busy dental office environment with a focus on efficiency and accuracy in medical records management. Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical setting.
